South West National Park Text Description

The grades shown apply to the South West only, walkers from other places often regard the 'easy' walks as medium or medium/hard. Grades are always relative in the area. If you find the easy walks difficult then avoid the medium and hard walks in this park. They are physically very demanding and first time visitors often regard them as 'desperate' in standard. As an example, most walkers regard Federation Peak and the Western Arthurs as hard but they are easier than the tougher off-track walks.
