While not the highest mountain in South West Tasmania, this rocky crag stands in a dominating location. The top is only 4010 feet above sea level (1300 metres) but with its sharp spire and 2000 foot cliffs this is the most highly desired summit in Tasmania. Today, there are well worn tracks to the mountain but the weather and the steep terrain deter many would-be ascent parties. The images have been selected to show various aspects of the approach and the peak rather than being the most spectacular images from my collection. Some were taken in poor weather and lack strong colour but I hope they will be useful to any intending walkers to gauge what there is to see. Most images are of the Eastern Arthur approach - this is the most spectacular route to the peak.
