Weather Conditions for the inland valleys of South West Tasmania
The wide variation in summer shows that conditions can vary from heat waves (with bushfire danger) to just above freezing. Be prepared for anything.
February and March are the driest and most popular walking period. Average yearly rainfall is 2510 mm (100 inches).
At best, it rains at least every second day even in summer. Most of the other days are cloudy as the small number of clear days shows.
Accuracy - Good, above records have been kept for 28 years at Strathgordon which is located 320 above sea level. The weather is typical of the tracks through the valleys such as the Arthur Plains and Port Davey Tracks.
